Reliance – 5G

During his keynote address at the inauguration of India Mobile Congress 2021, Mukesh D Ambani, Chairman & MD of Reliance Industries, stressed that the rollout of 5G should be India’s national priority.

Ambani said, “At Jio, we currently focus on 4G and 5G execution and broadband infrastructure expansion. We have developed a 100 percent home-grown and comprehensive 5G solution that is fully cloud-native and digitally managed. Because of our converged, future-proof architecture, Jio’s network could be quickly and seamlessly upgraded from 4G to 5G.”

Since 2014, India’s mobile and digital ecosystem have seen a dramatic shift. Ambani expressed gratitude to the Department of Transportation and the COAI for hosting the fifth edition of the Indian Mobile Congress, saying that it came at a vital time in India’s post-COVID recovery. On the one hand, India’s COVID-19 immunization effort is making incredible progress. On the other hand, it is intensifying efforts to return the economy to a high-growth path. The importance of the industry’s contribution to the success of these two massive projects cannot be overstated. He further stated that he is extremely convinced that India will not only be able to contain any future COVID outbreaks but will also be able to stage a quick economic recovery that will astound the rest of the globe.

He also stated that ubiquitous Fibre Connectivity should be accomplished on a mission basis across India. This is because the world is moving toward a ‘Digital First Era,’ in which practically everything will be done first in the digital realm and then translated into the physical realm. The economic paradigm, as well as social connections, will shift radically.

On the topic of ‘Connectivity for the Next Decade,’ Ambani stated that India must complete the shift from 2G to 4G to 5G as soon as possible. Keeping millions of Indians at the bottom of the social ladder on 2G, he says, will prevent them from benefiting from the digital revolution.
